BPS gets parents’ feedback for district redesign

BOSTON, MA (06/28/10) -- The Office of Family and Student Engagement (OFSE), working in partnership with Operations, Capital and Strategic Planning, Enrollment Services and Academic Services, organized 14 community forums on June 26 to inform and gather parents' input about BPS redesigning and reinvestment.

Small focus groups were conducted with trained facilitators in each of the BPS school zones, with primary focus on neighborhoods within the Circle of Promise, and the East Boston community.

Community sponsors included faith-based, linguistic, community and/or school-based groups to ensure racial, cultural, and socio-economic and gender diversity.

Translation and simultaneous interpretation were provided to English Language Learning parents.
